Fermi

Fermi

Trust your gut. Count later.

Dots flash for a blink. Guess how many. Counting is cheating — and, honestly, impossible.

How to play Fermi

  1. Tap Flash it. A cloud of dots appears for a split second, then vanishes.
  2. Guess how many there were. Don't count — you can't. That's the whole point.
  3. 4 rounds, each with roughly 10× more dots than the last — 1s, then 10s, 100s, 1000s. Get the order of magnitude right and you score.

You're training your approximate number sense — the brain's built-in estimator. It's older than counting. Named after Enrico Fermi, patron saint of the educated guess.
